11 Desires for 2011

I recently posted 10 things from 2010.  While I was putting together that list I started thinking about 2011.  Here is a list of desires, dreams and hopefully realities for the year ahead.

1. 2011 will be my 20th anniversary with my best friend, Craig, my super awesome husband.

2. I want to go to Hawaii.  Craig wants to renew our vows on the beach in Hawaii.  Hey who am I to stop him.  ;)

3. I want to go to Portland, Oregon to meet a friend that I feel I have known forever.  It is amazing how you can talk to someone and it it is like that.

4. Hope’s 16th Birthday is in July.  I am praying that I will have the energy to take her and a couple of her friends to Santa Cruz to celebrate.

5.  I would really enjoy reading two amazing lady’s books that are due to be released.  One from Cindy and one from Tam.  If I can get signed copies I would be super excited!!!

6. Ryan will turn 18 in February.  I am going to hold it together as he joins the Army and tries to forge out his “Adult” life.

7. I am going to attempt to grow a couple of specific friendships that I selfishly want.

8. I would like to have more moments with my mom where we are laughing.

9. Grow a more structured prayer life.

10. I have decided to read through the Bible chronologically this year (2011).  I pray for structure, that I keep up with it.

11. I am hoping to live and show my faith.  I pray that I will touch at least one person’s life.  That I will show less of me and more of Him.

Last year I wrote a letter to myself on New Years to have it delivered this year.  I forgot all about it until it arrived.  I was surprised by where I was and what I had hoped to see in 2010.  I can’t say I achieved all of my goals.  I wonder what I will see happen in 2011.

What are some of your dreams and desires for 2011?

10 Things About 2010

Here are 10 things that affected, changed and will stay with me from 2010.

1. My Family’s Love.  How they make me feel even during this time of discovery.

2. A Diagnosis – An answer finally.

3. I Started a New Job.  After being at my last job for a few years, the new one was an adjustment.  But who am I to question God when he gives me something.

4. My Son Graduated Early. I am so proud of him.

5. God Showed Me the Difference between Religion and Relationship.  How One Destroys and One Heals.

6. I Didn’t Travel Out of State.  Except to visit my Mom once in Reno.  No long trips.

7. My Friend’s Support and Love.  Both from New and Old Friends.

8. Learning my Limitations.  Dealing with the Pain and Tiredness.

9. I actually Laughed with my Mother.  My Precious Camera Happy Daughter caught it all.  My heart leapt when I saw those pictures.  We really had Fun together.  It was Refreshing.

10. The Christmas Gift of Time instead of Money with Girlfriends.  A $5.00 lunch at Wendy’s for an hour is way better then another tube of Lotion.  Really.

I am looking forward to 2011.  I pray that you all had a great year.

Holding Onto Things

I admit it…..I hold onto things.  Not possessions but things people did, said, could have done, should have done.  I guess you could say offenses or oversights.  I don’t usually throw them in the persons face or use it against them.  So much as just remember.

I claim I remember these things so that I can protect myself in the future from the dids, saids, coulds and shoulds have dones.  I put on my Armour of Self Protection.  I have “forgiven” them and am now just protecting myself.

Then I read this in Isaiah verse 43:25–
“I, yes, I alone will blot out your sins for MY OWN SAKE and will Never think of them again.”

God is saying that for His sake he forgets our sins.  Not for our sake, but His sake. For me to grow in this area, I need to remember that. Because all I am really doing is hurting myself with my cache of “things remembered”.
