God Played Peek-a-Boo with me the other morning!
It Reminded me that He is ALWAYS there….
Even when I can’t see him He really is with me!
It is an Awesome Feeling.

This week we are suppose to write about ourselves in the third person. I have never done this before so forgive me if I am lame.

Theresa is a woman, wife, mom and a fraidy cat of spiders. She squeals for her husband to come and “Take Care” of them. She has been diligently learning patience with her teenagers.

Theresa is not a caregiver but has been acting like one for awhile now. She feels inadaquate at this role but continues to tackle it.

Theresa is highly organized. She drives her family and friends crazy when she has something to plan. Once all the details are in place she can relax and be fun.

Theresa most importantly loves the Lord. She spends time with him every day and tries to introduce him to all her friends.

On a side note. I really want to thank you all for your prayers as we have been dealing with the loss of Mel. The kids are adjusting and Craig is painting (His chosen coping method) . I feel numb at times but happy for Mel. He is at peace and whole, up with our Heavenly Father.

We headed out of town this last weekend and went to see my Mom. This seemed to really take some of the gloom off us all. I will post about our trip and include some pictures soon.

Theresa loves you all!!!

During the month of May, What’s on Your Mind ‘09? is going to discuss some Myths.

Myth #1 – Christianity is All About Being a Good Person?

First of all what is a Myth?
One Definition puts it like this:
A popular belief or story that has become associated with a person, institution, or occurrence, especially one considered to illustrate a cultural ideal.

Second what is Christianity?
Christianity is defined as the Christian religion, founded on the life and teachings of Jesus.

One Encyclopedia states that Christianity is a religion founded in Palestine by the followers of Jesus. One of the world’s major religions, it predominates in Europe and the Americas, where it has been a powerful historical force and cultural influence, but it also claims adherents in virtually every country of the world.

I thought that I would do some video for you.

This weeks topic is…How do you practice this verse in your every day life? Matthew 11:28-30?

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Hi my name is Theresa and I am a recovering worrier. I have been worry-sober for 3 years now. Please don’t think that I am a princess with nothing to worry about. I just chose to not let my worry eat away at me, burn my stomach, keep me from sleeping, make me snappish, etc.

BTW I am a Princess of Jesus! So it is ok to think that….Just don’t think that there isn’t anything in my life that can cause ulcer creating worry. Just to prove that I know what I am talking about in regards to things to worry about, here is a short list….
1. I live with my Father In Law
2. My Father In Law has been in the hospital for over a month now.
3. I have teenagers…Not 1 but 2. Opposite sexes and personality…So anything that I learn from dealing with the oldest one doesn’t usually apply to the younger one.
4. My husband was laid off the week before Christmas….Last statistics out for our county showed the unemployment rate to be 16%.
5. I only work part-time. I enjoy this, my checkbook doesn’t.
6. Oh and this one is a biggie….I live in California as a Christian Republican. (Been wondering when the hunting season opens up on us)

So as you can see I do have a little bit of stuff that I could decide to spend my days stressing over. I CHOSE not too. It is a choice to have faith that Jesus’ Yoke is easy and his Burden is light. The way I look at it is if His burden is considered light…I have no burden worth complaining about. How can my burden/things to worry over be harder then His? Didn’t he die on the cross because of our Burden of Sin? Doesn’t he back us up with his Father, Claim us as His, Show us his everlasting Love and Faith everyday. Didn’t he give us Eternal Life? This life is but a millisecond in eternity.

Have you ever thought that we may be insulting Jesus when we don’t come to him? Don’t put our burdens in his hand? Stupidly think that we can deal with them all by ourselves?

I chose to take His yoke upon me and learn from him. This is how I chose to apply this verse to my life. I chose to Find Rest for My Soul and experience His Gentleness.

This weeks topic is What’s on Your Bucket List?

I thought that this topic would be easy. In ways it is. I mean I want to see my kids prosper and have happy lives as adults. I want to have grandchildren. I want to grow closer to God everyday. I want to continue finding new things that I love about my husband. There is my Cookie-Cutter Bucket List. These are all things that we are suppose to leave out of our lists today. We are suppose to dig deeper.

So I am praying that you guys won’t laugh too hard at some of my items. :)
(Listed in no particular order)

2. I want to find my place in Ministry.
3. I want to go back to Hawaii and take our kids.
4. I want to get a friend of mine from SoCal up here to NorCal. I want Her and I to go to Oregon together and meet some people.
5. I want to see my friends in Edmond as much as possible.  They refresh me and help me.  It is the equivalent to a retreat for me.
6. I want to be a voice, an advocate to teen girls that have a hard time with promiscuity, physical and emotional. I guess I want to try and save them from themselves.

There are more things that I want to do I am sure. This is just a short list. There is one more item that is at the head of the list. No matter what I have completed or added to the list.

#1 – I want to be who God has destined me to be.
I want all worldly things that keep me from being that person to fall away.
