One of my Goals in 2010 is to start Blogging more regularly.

I have figured out that blogging is more for me then you. I have realized that I need the outlet. I need a place to blabber about whatever. I welcome you to join me in this journey of becoming closer to God, staying a loving wife, and gaining fallible insight to parenting teens.

I use to do Monday Meditations. Sometimes they were quotes, sayings or scripture. This week it is a scripture.

At the beginning of a year I will pick a verse to “stand on” for the year.
This years pick is….

Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. – Psalm 55:22

This brings me comfort now. I am sure that it will be a solid rock, foundation, to stand on the whole year!

Do you have a theme for 2010?

jesusI was thinking.
I was wondering.

Why do you Serve? I’m not talking Tennis or Volleyball.
Why do you serve at the Shelter, Mission, Clinic, School, Church?

Do you serve because it is your gifting? The Lord put it in your heart to read to 2nd graders, serve soup, organize the thrift store, greet people at church or whatever way it is that you serve.

Is it All for God? For His Kingdom? Because you Love your Neighbor, Friend, Church?

Or Do You Serve to say….
I do This….
I do That….
I have this Planned…..

What are your motives?
Do you serve because you want to or because you have to?

To Who’s Glory goes the benefits of your service?
YOURS
or
GODS

I will explain why I ask on Wednesday.

“Examine yourselves to see if your faith is really genuine. Test yourselves.
If you cannot tell that Jesus Christ is among you,
it means you have failed the test.” -2 Corinthians 13:5

This is a Scripture that has been running through my head for awhile.

It is so easy to test others. See if they pass or fail BUT…
What about ME?? Do I Pass??
I had to sit back and turn the mirror on me. I saw Jesus but he was hazy. I have been letting life get in the way of the One that gave me life. I am seeng Him clearer now.

When was the last time you sat down and tested yourself?
When you did…Was Jesus among you?

Most people rush after pleasure so fast that they rush right past it.
―Soren Kierkegaard

My prayer for everyone this weekend is that we slow down. Enjoy our pleasure. Maybe even quiet the rush. I am planning on it. :) I really could use a quiet pleasurable weekend.

Seek You Peace!!

I can forgive, but I cannot forget, is only another way of saying, I will not forgive.
Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled note – torn in two, and burned up,
so that it never can be shown against one.
~Henry Ward Beecher

I have been working on the Forgetting part of Forgiveness.  It seems to be a little more difficult.

How are you doing with it?
