Meet Danielle…

She is one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world.
Sometimes she is my oldest child.
She is always Hope’s Big Sister. You know the person that your daughter goes and talks to about stuff she doesn’t want to talk to her stinky mom about….that is Danielle.
Danielle is also the person that I called last September and told her she needed to “Talk to your Sister”, because I couldn’t utter a word to Hope I was so mad.

Danielle is the person that without telling Craig or me, showed up on our doorstep the morning of Mel’s funeral. She actually got up left her family, took time off of work and drove 4 hours to come and hug me as I was finally able to cry. Danielle was the glue that held Hope together while Craig and I had to take care of the “business” aspect of things.

Danielle is quite a bit younger than me….Like 15 years. She is more mature then some of the OLD people I know.  She has been through alot in her life. She is beautiful, caring, confident and one of the best moms I have ever seen.

Saturday I get the pleasure of standing at the Altar in her Church while her and her beloved say their vows.
I can’t wait to get on the road!
I am Heading to San Jose!!

Do you know the way to San Jose….What a great song that is!!!

As 2009 comes to a close I have decided to look back on it. So much has happened this last year. So many little events have occurred that made up the days of 2009. There have been some big events as well. Some of the memories are funny, happy, exciting and sad, melancholy, thoughtful times. I have come to realize some things about myself, both good and bad. I have also removed some people off of the pedestals I built and set them on.

I have decided to make a list of 9 things from 2009…..

1. Both of my Children were Baptized. I can die a Happy Mom now….You moms know what I am saying.

2. I got to see the wonder on my Children’s faces when we took a vacation to Hawaii. I am just not sure how you can’t believe in God when you see the beauty.

3. We lost Mel. My father in law was called home to Jesus. He is frolicking with my mother in law now. Pain-free, healthy, whole.

4. I realized a big family doesn’t mean a close family. It has been sad to see the way Craig’s siblings handled the death of their father.

5. Hope graduated Junior High and started High School. She is doing great.

6. Ryan became Home Schooled. What a change in his self esteem and respect to us.

7. I came within 2 pounds of my goal weight. I have successfully put most of it back on again. I wish I could say I was sad but I really learned alot about myself. This kind of goes with the comment about pedestals.

8. I attended a Beth Moore Conference and Women of Faith! God is so Good!!

9. I was Baptized. I had been as a baby but never as an adult. Pastor Bill said that it was great that our parents made that decision for us. Maybe it was time for us to stand up for ourselves.

I got to meet some new friends. Hear some new sermons. Travel to Oklahoma again. I have done some Bible studies. I have laughed and cried. I had some dreams fulfilled. I have had some questions answered. Most of all I have been loved.

I can’t wait to see what 2010 has for me.

Today, Craig and I went up to the Northern California Veteran’s Cemetary.
There is a group that lays wreaths on the head-stones every year. It is Beautiful.

This is our first year without Mel.
It was sad and gorgeous to see his Head-Stone graced with the wearth.
His life is a scarafice that blessed us.

Please Remember our Troops and Veterans!

Love Them, Help Them and Respect Them!

the-river-lcf-001Today I attended a church I have never visited before. It is called The River. They meet 10:30 Sunday Mornings, at 1842 Keystone Court in Redding. It has such a nice feel to it. I loved being there. I felt very welcome. They have a wonderful sense of family.

I had a purpose for going to The River today. I have been trying to meet Brandon & Kristen Buchanan and Brent & Tam Hodge for awhile. The “Buchanan Bunch” actually live right here in Redding, The River is their church home. The “Hodge Clan” is from Grand Point, Oregon. The Hodge Clan had travelled down to do Worship with Brandon and Kristen. The Hodge Clan includes Brent, Tam, Kass their daughter, she played guitar and sang and Kota, their son he played the drums. It was amazing!

Pictured- Kass, Kota (kind of), Tam, Kristen, Brent and Brandon. Here is the list of songs that were sung:

-Great Humble King
-Holy is the Lord
-I Will Overcome
-Lead Me On (A Hodge Clan Original)
-Wonderful You (Written my Kristen and Brandon)
-Unrelenting Love (Written by Tam through a Conversation she had with God)
-I’m so Glad (Solo with Kristen, Brandon playing the guitar)

When you hear these amazing artists play, harmonize and worship together it is hard to believe that they have only been together a few times in the last couple months. When Tam sang Unrelenting Love it brought tears to my eyes. Kristen sang I’m So Glad at the very end of the service and it gave me goosebumps.

Now following this was an amazing message by Pastor Brian Nickens. Since this was my first time attending The River I had no idea what to expect. I was seriously not disappointed by His message. His heart for the Lord was so evident when he prayed before starting. Then spoke a message on Psalm 16. Line by Line, Verse by Verse. I love this form of message because it gives me an opportunity to really sink into the word as we are intended to do.

I don’t normally attend The River; I am a partner at a different church. I also am a prayer volunteer for a Global Church. I would seriously recommend The River to any Christian that wants to hear Amazing Worship and Biblically sound messages. If you attend a big church and feel lost in it….Try The River. It is a wonderfully intimate setting. Some people may think I am crazy for telling them to go to a church I don’t normally attend. I personally agree with Craig Groeschel when he says…

Satan Loves for churches to COMPETE against each other….God Loves for churches to COMPLETE one another. I will be back at the River. I know this from the bottom of my heart. I heard God speak to me there. I listened to His human angels worship him beautifully. Thank You for making me feel so Welcomed!

This last weekend my family traveled to Medford to have our family pictures taken by Joshua white. This is the excitement I got to experience. I can not wait to see the pictures he caught of us.

I am disappointed that I didn’t get to meet some people I had hoped to. I am not sure if we are ever meant to meet. This is the second miss.

The Satisfaction was getting to meet the other Theresa. It was so fun to talk to her. I got scolded by my husband. He told me to pick what I was going to eat then I could talk. I swear that Theresa, His Life For Mine, and I have been friends for years and just didn’t know it.

I am telling you that if you have an opportunity to meet face to face with some online friends! Confirm it is safe and go for it. I haven’t been disappointed by anybody I have met yet, only by time frames.

Thank you Medford for a fun visit!!
