I am a Christ Follower.
I believe that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ.
That He died for OUR Sins.
That He rose from the Tomb.
That He sits at the right hand of God and Intercedes for US.
I am Blessed.
This is a Definition of Intercession-
- A Prayer to God on behalf of another person.
- Is the act of interceding (intervening or mediating) between two parties.
I have been visiting Numbers lately. Actually I have been reading it from beginning to end out loud to my husband. When we got to Numbers in our reading plan, I admit to groaning. I have read this book a few times before, Forgive me but I have a hard time not falling asleep.
Whereas it does hold some of my favorite verses ever in it….
“The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace. -Numbers 6:24-26 (NKJ)
It also can be redundant. As I was reading though I noticed something that I really hadn’t paid much attention to before. Moses and Aaron. These two guys are like the Big Wigs in Numbers. I started to feel sorry for them. Every chapter I read pretty much had the same story in it.
The Israelites mumbled and complained about e.v.e.r.ything. Seriously EVERYTHING, No Meat. No Veggies, Only Manna (which supposedly tasted like a pastry, yum), we’d rather be slaves, blah blah blah. It was never ending. God was angry with them, tired of listening to them complain. He wanted to take care of them. But who stepped in every time…. Moses and Aaron. “They Fell FACE DOWN on the Ground” and pleaded with God for His mercy…MANY TIMES. Most of the time God would listen and offer a lesser punishment than complete annihilation. Poor Moses and Aaron…It sounds like they ate alot of dirt.
I take comfort knowing that when I mess up that Jesus is sitting there, next to God, His Father and He is saying something like….. “I know Dad. She sinned but She is Mine. I have paid for that.”

great post!
If our worth is based on our actions then yes, we are unworthy…thankfully Jesus IN us makes us worthy of His love and mercy!! I need to eat more dirt…carpet…whatever… humbly and gratefully covered by God’s grace and love.
It is a good thing to know there is someone who will speak for us when we sin. That would require a lot of talking in my case.
Jesus may have died for your sins, but so do you, evey time you relive them in your mind.
I believe that the sins of the past are meaningless, other than as a lesson, as long as we work to try and not repeat them. Faith is about the future, not the past.
Great thoughts, Theresa! I like the one where you said Moses and Aaron … ate alot of dirt. Never thought of it that way!
I also like where you reminded us of Jesus interceding for us. I’m so glad He paid for my sins!
