The Buts, The Nots and The Nevers

Let’s review 2 Corinthians 4:8-10

We are pressed on every side by troubles,
BUT
we are NOT crushed.

We are perplexed,
BUT
NOT driven by dispair.

We are hunted down,
BUT
NEVER abandoned by God.

We get knocked down,
BUT
we are NOT destroyed.

Through suffering,
our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus
so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.

We can concentrate on what we “Are”:
Pressed
Perplexed
Hunted Down
Knocked Down
OR
We can concentrate on what we are “Not”:
Crushed
Driven to Dispair
Distroyed

I pray that the Life of Jesus is seen in my life and my body.

Most of all though
Isn’t it exciting that…
We are NEVER ABANDONED BY GOD!!!

This is a good word to stand on, Theresa! Thanks for sharing. I love it, that we are NEVER abandoned by God. Doesn’t matter if it feels like it, we are never without God.

  2. ed says:

There are not Buts in faith Theresa.

The Nots are the people who have yet to find faith, which makes living much harder.

Never is for those who have found their faith. This means having something to sustain us when facing the challenges that will life will throw at us.

I hope you and your family have a very joyous Easter.

    I wish I had your faith…….
