This month’s topic for What’s On Your Mind ’09 is…
Pray/Prayer/Praying
This week I am looking at Prayer.
I really wanted to see some “official” definitions of this word.
Prayer-noun
1. a devout petition to God
2. a spiritual communion with God, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.
3. the act or practice of praying to God.
4. a formula or sequence of words used in or appointed for praying: the Lord’s Prayer
So Now that we got that out of the way….
I would really like to hear what you think about Prayer.
Does the above definition cover your thoughts?
Is it a gift to be able to talk to our Lord?
To take our praise, questions, and concerns to Him directly.
Is it uncomfortable to join others in Prayer?
In the last couple of weeks I have sent out a couple of prayer requests. I had asked my friends and family to pray for my family, for this weight that I was feeling. The response I received was amazing and 4 days after my initial Prayer request I had amazing break-through. So my closing sentence will tell you what I truly think about prayer….
PRAYER ROCKS!!!!

I love it! Prayer rocks and You too!!!
I fully agree, Theresa.
PRAYER ROCKS!
Well, really, GOD ROCKS – and I am so thankful He has given us prayer so we can communicate with Him. *big, happy, grateful sigh*
I definitely think it is a gift that we can pray anytime. Back in the day, the Israelites had to go to the high priest for atonement of sins. Now we can go to Jesus, the ultimate high priest and ask forgiveness of sins. The Word says we can BOLDLY come before the throne and ask in time of need!
I’m so thankful I was born AFTER Jesus’ sacrifice!
I agree! My prayer time is split into different groups, I guess I can call them that. Sometimes I really intercede for something or others, and I usually do that in my room, alone with the door shut. Then there are times when I just talk to God, like on the bus or walking etc. Other times I pray with others, like in a group form…..but any way you look it it, its so esential for us as believers!
