I hope that everyone had a marvelous Mother’s Day!
I have always been a pray-er. I really do love to pray for people. I love getting prayer requests from my friends and family. Whether I know the person I am praying for or not, I really do love to pray for people.
Sometimes I worry that I may over pray. Not that there is ever enough prayer. I guess what I mean is sometimes I feel almost like I pray and pray and pray to a point where the person may regret having asked me to pray for their need at all.
I am not sure why but this has weighed heavily on me this last week. I am getting ready this week to embark on a new adventure that is all prayer related. I almost feel as if the enemy is attacking me and trying to get me confused. Imagine that.
So I wanted to share a couple things that happened this weekend……
1. I had been included in a list of people that had received a prayer request this last week. My friend was struggling with Darkness and also trying to get ready for a speaking engagement. I felt honored to be asked to pray for her. I sent her a couple of emails through the week trying to lift her up and keep her positive. Her response after the event was over was so sweet, I will never forget it.
2. I sent out a letter of prayer to a blog acquaintance that has been in a period of change. I sent out this letter in January. It was unsolicited but I just really had felt at the time that the Lord was speaking to me to reach out. I never heard back from this person. I assumed that I had crossed a line. Or, She has a strong friend base, my simple prayers and encouragements may not have been needed. Here we are 4 months later and I was amazed to see her name in my inbox. She sent me an email telling me that she appreciated my prayers and encouragements.
Once again the Lord amazes me by giving me what I need when I need it. I had started to question if my prayers were effective, wanted or heard.
Thank you Ladies for lifting me up.
I do have a couple questions/thoughts that came to my mind….
Do you define your Prayer Life by the response you get from the person you are praying for?
If you have asked for Prayer….Do you want the person who prayed for you to follow-up with you and see how things are? OR Is their Prayer enough?
I really can’t wait to see your comments!
Please Pray for my new adventure. Pray that the Lord with be with me as I pray for others.

I’ll be very interested to hear about your prayer adventure when you are ready to talk about it!
You asked:
“Do you define your Prayer Life by the response you get from the person you are praying for?”
Yes, even though I shouldn’t, I’m human enough to want feedback! Just bein’ real, here.
“If you have asked for Prayer….Do you want the person who prayed for you to follow-up with you and see how things are? OR Is their Prayer enough?”
Yes! Being forgetful as I am, I would love for people to follow-up because I don’t want to miss a chance to testify what God has done!
Your asking that question makes me think – what about me? Do I follow up with people when I have prayed for them? No! And I should!
Thanks for making me think!
I love hearing from people who have been praying for me. It’s helpful to know that the requests asked are being pursued up to the throne of God. When I pray for people I like to either do it right then and there (even in an email) or after I pray for them I may send them a note to let them know I’ve been praying for them (again many times via cyber network). Many of us look for acknowledgement, encouragement, affirmation to know we’re on the right path. I don’t think that it’s wrong… but it can get overrated. When that area is lacking it can be a healthy check into why we are praying to begin with, right?
How do I “define” my prayer life? Oh, good question! I think I define it on the connection I feel between my human self and our holy God. If I’m feeling close to Him then I know I’ve been in prayer. Is this a good/healthy definition? I don’t know! But it’s where I’m at today!

Well, My prayer life consists of talking to the Lord through out the day. I love seeing the results but don´t neccessarily need to hear how one is doing that I have been praying for. I think the Lord answers in many ways. So maybe the way I am praying isn´t neccessarily how He will answer but His way is perfect.
I love it when I have a sister or brother who follows up on a prayer request. It shows they are really praying. So I try to remember to do the same. Don´t exactly expect an answer just to let them know you are still praying.
If I tell someone I will pray for them, I do so right then and there so there is no forgetting.
Thank you for this special post! May God truly bless your prayer life!
Thank you too for stopping by today!
Love in Christ!
