Every morning before my husband got laid off we had a schedule. He would wake me up as he was leaving for work. I would start waking up, slowly get out of bed. I would get ready for work, get dressed, put on make-up, do my hair, make sure that Hope was awake and having breatfast. Sometime during that hour of me getting ready I would get the sweetest text. It usually read “Good Morning Honey, I Love you! Have a great day see you at lunch!”.

This morning as I was working it popped into my head that since he was home in the mornings now I never get those sweet messages anymore. Ho Hum…. So I text messaged him and asked him how come. I mean what woman wants to not get her sweet nothings text messages anymore.

My sweet husband called me at work. He said “HoneyBee (his nickname for me), Do I make you breakfast every morning and get you Ice Tea to take to work?” “Yes” I said. OHHHH DUHH! I get it!!

You see I got so use to my regular lavishing from my husband that I FORGOT TO SEE THE NEW MORE CURRENT LAVISHING. I am so blessed by my husband in so many ways everyday. Thank you Lord for my Husband that you picked for me.

Do you ever forget about a way you are taken care of? Or get caught up in what is missing from before that you miss what is new today?

This weeks What’s On Your Mind topic was to find our Anchor Verses for 2009.  I have really enjoyed this task.  I must admit that I had discovered my verses awhile ago.  I can’t wait to see what the other ladies have chosen.  In 2009, I am praying for the Lord to hold me accountable for  my words and actions.  I don’t have a problem encouraging others but I haven’t figured out how to take it in for myself.  So here are my 2009 Anchor Verses….

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,

and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
-Psalm 139:23-24

That is all I got tonight.

The most important thing she’d learned over the years
was that there was no way to be a perfect mother
and a million ways to be a good one.

‘I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I’VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. I DON’T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY..
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY.’

This is part of one of those forwarded emails that we all get.  I think that I have received it two or three times before.  I keep running into people that ask me how, when and how long they need to pray for.

I didn’t get the memo that required us to be on our knees for 45 minutes and pray from 6 am to 6:45 am, then to revisit the prayer position at 11:40m to noon to ”remind ” God of your earlier prayers,  Just in case your earlier devotionals or everything you have prayed for so far will be forgotten.  At bed time you will need to revisit for a minimum of 1 hour to repent for your sins and remind God of your prayers.  If any of you received this memo can I receive a copy of it?  Please!

I admit in my human fleshy self…The above prayer to me is beautiful.  I think it is a great place to start. Add more when you are comfortable.  Praying to God is just a conversation with someone that loves you more than anybody else could ever imagine.  Don’t let words intimidate you.  Check in with him at least once a day.

This weeks topic is God in the Ordinary.  Sometimes I don’t think that I get the topics in the way they were meant but I am just going to continue in the direction that the Lord leads me.  So God in the Ordinary to me means that God shows himself or makes himself known in little ways while I do day to day things.

I was listening to a message a few weeks ago about Prayer. Craig Groeschel at LifeChurch.tv was explaining how he walks through his day and talks to God all day in prayer for people, situations and desires.  This message made me relax.  I am not one of those people that can curl up in my recliner and watch the sunrise and pray nonstop for hours straight.  I wake up in the morning and pray that we have an awesome day, that the blood of Jesus will continue to protect my family, thank Him for a restful night of sleep and Thank Him again for Jesus.  Then my day starts.

I talk to God all day.  When I see people on the road that are down and out. I pray.  When I run into the grocery store and I see mothers with their WIC checks buying milk for their babies and people are rolling their eyes because it takes longer to check out. I thank my Lord for making that program available to that Mother that needs the help to raise her child healthy.  I praise him when I get a green light.  :)

They other day in the store there was a lady in a scooter.  She came close to running into the back of Craig a couple of times and he was perturbed.  This store is a bag your own groceries store.  She got into line behind us.  So while I was waiting for the clerk to ring me up, I started unloading her basket and she was so happy that she almost started crying.  Turns out that she has just had her knee replaced.  I went to write the check and they started ringing her up and there is my husband bagging her groceries.

Too me that is God in the Ordinary.  Where he use to have to scream in my ear to help others.  Whisper in my heart don’t you think you should pray for that person.  I know find that once in a while he actually tells me he loves me for doing things IN THE ORDINARY!
